DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Lefty Grove captured after releasing a pitch. Grove is looking over his left shoulder with a look of concentration on his face. He is bent down, leaning forward with only his right foot on the ground. Grove is dressed in a Boston Red Sox road uniform. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Grove, 'Lefty' Robert Moses 4/3/39." Based on Grove's uniform, his time with the Red Sox, and the caption on the reverse, this photograph was probably taken in 1939.
