DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Lefty Grove captured after releasing a pitch during his warm up on the sidelines of a baseball field. Grove is looking over his left shoulder and his body is bent forward as he balances on just his right leg. His left arm is crossed in front of his body. Grove is dressed in a Boston Red Sox uniform. An unidentified teammate of Grove's is visible in the background walking towards the dugout and has the number 26 on the back of his uniform. An unidentified stadium and dugout are visible in the background. An unidentified baseball player is visible standing in the dugout. Numerous fans are visible in the stands. The caption on the front of the photograph states, "Lefty Grove." The handwriting on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Lefty Grove Philadelphia A's" but the uniform appears to be a Red Sox one. Based on Grove's uniform and his time with the Red Sox, this photograph was taken in between 1936 and 1941.
