Dateprobably 1953
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Connie Mack captured as he looks down and talks with a young baseball fan, Johnny Anderson. Anderson has a smile on his face as he interacts with Mack. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "The Game Is Ageless Aged Connie Mack bends over to speak with Johnny Anderson, one of the new generation's followers of baseball, in the stand at the birthplace of Lou Gehrig in New York where a plaque was unveiled Aug. 21 in memory of the Yankees' great first baseman. Johnny, who lives only a few doors away from Gehrig's birthplace on East 94th Street, and baseball's 'Grand Old Man' found the difference in years no barrier to their mutual love of the game." Based on the newspaper clipping and information on the reverse (not shown) this image was probably captured in 1953.
