DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Monte Irvin eating at a restaurant. The image caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Signed, Sealed, Satisfied. New York: Monte Irvin, New York Giants outfielder, smiles broadly as he enjoys a chicken dinner at a New York restaurant January 26th, after signing his 1954 contract with the National League club. Irvin, who will be 33 years old on the 25th of next month, signed for an estimated $25,000. Last season he hit .329, batted in 97 runs, and hit 21 homers. He tied Jackie Robinson of Brooklyn for seventh highest hitter in the National League. Irvin leaves New York by auto the middle of next week for a leisurely trip to spring training camp in Phoenix, Arizona."
