Tony Gwynn Running slide
Date1998 October 18
DescriptionA full-length action color image of Tony Gwynn running to first. Shown in profile, Gwynn wears a San Diego Padres alternate World Series uniform, batting gloves, and helmet. Having just made contact with the ball, Gwynn is captured mid-stride. Adopting a modified lunge position, Gwynn supports his weight on his straight, back left leg, while his bent, front right leg is lifted slightly off the ground. Holding his bent left arm across his body, chest height, Gwynn extends his straight right arm back behind his body, holding onto the bat with his right hand. Gwynn turns his head to his left, to follow the trajectory of the ball. The creation date of this image was provided by the donor.
