DescriptionGold New York Yankees 1978 World Series championship ring given to Commissioner Bowie Kuhn that features a rounded square face that features a circular diamond set in blue stone. A raised border wraps around the stones. The outer part reads "World Champions" while the inside is small diamonds. One arm has Yankee Stadium and Yankees' logo. The other arm reads "Kuhn - 1978 NY - Pride - Tradition."
Bio/Historical NoteThe New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to two to win the 1978 World Series. Bowie Kuhn served as Major League Baseball's fifth commissioner from 1969 to 1984, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
