DescriptionGold Pittsburgh Pirates 1979 World Series championship ring given to Commissioner Bowie Kuhn. The ring has a rounded square face that features the Pirates logo consisting of 10 diamonds set in black stone. "Pirates World Champions" wraps around the stones. One arm has "1979" above Three Rivers Stadium. The other arm reads "Kuhn - We are Family" above a Pirates logo.
Bio/Historical NoteThe Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles four games to three to win the 1979 World Series. Bowie Kuhn served as Major League Baseball's fifth commissioner from 1969 to 1984, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
