DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Sandy Koufax seated next to Willie Davis. They are dressed in their Dodgers uniforms and are comparing injuries. The caption on the side of the photograph reads, "Los Angeles, April 19--Good news and bad in Dodger camp--Will Davis, right, Los Angeles Dodgers' outfielder, tell Sandy Koufax today about the pulled tendon in his right knee which has been bothering him ever since the opening game against the New York Mets a week ago. On the bright side, Koufax reported the elbow on his pitching arm feels great today after a full nine-inning victorious stint against Philadelphia yesterday. Koufax was afraid the elbow, in which he's got arthritis, would be stiff today." A second, partially visible caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Dodger sick bay report-Everything may someday come up roses for the Dodgers, but for now they can only take the good news with the bad. Sandy Koufax's elbow...sound after Sunday's nine-inning stint against the Phillies...knee." According to the caption, this photograph was taken on April 19, 1965.
