BiographyTom Brown played for the Baltimore Orioles of the American Association (1882), Columbus Buckeyes of the American Association (1883-1884), Pittsburgh Alleghenys of the American Association (1885-1886), Pittsburgh Alleghenys of the National League (1887), Indianapolis Hoosiers of the National League (1887), Boston Beaneaters of the National League (1888-1889), Boston Reds of the Players League (1890), Boston Reds of the American Association (1891), Louisville Colonels of the National League (1892-1894), St. Louis Browns of the National League (1895), and for the Washington Senators of the National League (1895-1898, as player-manager 1897-1898 ). After his playing career, Brown served as an umpire in the National League (1898-1899, 1901-1902).
