From left to right are, Leo Handley, Bill Benswanger, Honus Wagner, Wilbur Cooper and Pie Traynor. Handley is pointing to the model with his right hand and has his left arm around Wagner's shoulders. Wagner is seated and looking at the statue in awe. Traynor is pictured holding the statue while smiling. Benswanger and Cooper are standing behind Wagner. The statue shows Wagner in his batting stance and is mounted on a base that depicts two young fans looking up and pointing. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) reads, "Baseball great Honus Wagner (center), celebrating his 81st birthday, is shown a replica of a statue to be erected in his honor at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field. Surrounding Wagner are: (left to right) Leo Handley, Bill Benswanger, Wilbur Cooper and Pie Traynor. 2-24-55." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on February 24, 1955.
