DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Babe Ruth's grave at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. The engraving shows a depiction of Jesus standing with a boy. On the left, an engraved quote reads "May the divine spirit that animated Babe Ruth to win the crucial game of life inspire the youth of America!/ Cardinal Spellman." To the right reads "George Herman Ruth/ 1895-1948." There is snow on the grave and the area surrounding it. According to the caption (not shown) this was taken December 5, 1949.
