The caption (not shown) reads "Babe Ruth and Colonel "Jake" Ruppert as the consummated Babe Ruth a new contract that will pay Ruth, $35,000 for the coming baseball season. Although his previous year's salary has been cut $17,000 Ruth remains the highest paid player in both leagues. Photo was made in Ruppert's offices in his brewery on third avenue, New York." Both men are wearing suits and Ruth is holding a pen to sign the contract.
