DescriptionA black-and-white, close up, of Mel Ott's grip on his baseball bat. Ott has his hands placed on the lower end of a baseball bat and has his left hand placed over his right hand. Ott is dressed in a New York Giants home uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "A close up of the strong hands of Melvin Ott, youthful outfielder of the New York Giants showing how Mel grips his bat when he goes through his famous natural swing on a pitched ball. Ott, with 24 home runs, is leading both leagues in this department. His batting average at .338, promises to go much higher before the season draws to a close. 7-8-29."
