DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox captured tagging Pedro Gonzalez out at second as Gonzalez attempted to steal. Fox is dressed in a Houston Colt .45s road uniform, whereas Gonzalez is dressed in a New York Yankees home uniform. The caption on the front of the photograph (not shown) states, "April 5--Colt Nips Yank --Second baseman of the Houston, Colts, Nellie Fox stretches out to catch Yankee's Pedro Gonzalez, 42, as the speedy runner tries to get to the base. The Yankees beat the Houston Colts team 6-4 on an eighth inning rally." The caption on the back of the photograph (also not shown) states, "Tough to out-fox...is the Houston Colts Nellie Fox reaching for the tag on Pete Gonzalez. The Yankee utility player was bent down stealing by a throw from catcher John Bateman in the fifth inning of yesterday's game at Ft. Lauderdale. The Yanks won, 6-4." Based on the caption, this photograph was taken on April 5, 1964.
