DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Fritz Ackley dressed in a St. Louis Cardinals home uniform pitching on a practice pitcher's mound past third base on the sidelines. Ackley's body is bent forward and turned toward the camera with his left hand wearing a glove and curled toward his body and his right hand extended across his body. Other players are on the field pitching, hitting in a batting cage, fielding, and standing behind him. In the background, there is single tiered stadium seating with a few people sitting and a second tier press box. There are stadium floodlights with white poles to the left of the stadium seating and beyond the stadium, there are a palm trees. Based on Tom Acker's time with the St Louis Cardinal's AAA affiliate, the Jacksonville Suns, and the uniform style, this image was taken in 1964.
