DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Gil Hodges (left), Roy Campanella (center), and Duke Snider (right), posed together in the away dugout of the Polo Grounds, taken in 1951. All three players wear Brooklyn Dodgers away uniforms. Each player has his right leg raised to rest his right foot on the top step of the dugout. Each player holds a bat posed like he is about to swing. Part of the seating at the Polo Grounds is visible in the background. The date of the negative was determined by examining the details of the uniform shown in the image. Of particular interest is the patch visible on Hodges' left shoulder. This patch was worn by all National League teams during the 1951 season to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the National League.
