The caption below the image (not shown) reads, "8/28 Milwaukee - Braves' outfielder Bobbie Thomson (L) and Giants' outfielder Monte Irvin test each other's healed ankles. Thomson broke his ankle in spring training and Irvin busted his in April of '52. Both started steady action in late August."
