A caption on the reverse ( not shown), typed in purple ink, reads, "NEW YORK: After attending meeting April 12 of chief negotiators for clubowners and players in baseball's 12-day-old strike, a somewhat weary Marvin Miller, executive director of Major League players' association, tells press, "the gap has been narrowed considerably and we are more optimistic today, 4/12, than we have been the past several weeks."
