DescriptionRoyal blue cap, size 7 3/8, with a white button at the top crown and "KC" embroidered in white on the front. Proper left side has a World Series patch. "RIP / O.T / #18" is handwritten in silver ink on the proper left side front between the "KC" and the World Series patch. Reverse of the cap has an MLB patch. Underside of the bill is black with an MLB Authentication hologram sticker attached at the center near the sweatband. Interior proper right front panel near the sweatband edge has "30" handwritten in black ink. Interior sweatband is black with three manufacturer labels, including "New Era," "Authentic Collection / Official On-Field Cap" and sizing information.
Bio/Historical NoteCap worn by Yordano Ventura of the Kansas City Royals during Game 6 of the 2014 World Series on October 28th in Kansas City. Ventura tossed seven shutout innings against the Giants in Game 6. His cap from the 10-0 win bears tribute to his friend and Dominican countryman, Oscar Taveras, a Cardinals outfielder who died in a car accident two days earlier. The San Francisco Giants ultimately defeated the Royals four games to three to win the Series.
