TrannscriptionDec 23rd On condition that I am released from nomination by the Cleveland Base Ball Association I hereby agree to sign contract to play ball with the Brookyln Base Ball Club for the seaso of 1885 upon the following terms & conditions 1st My salary for 1885 to be [$700.00] of which sum $300.00 is to be paid me in advance [2nd] I am not to play ball or perform any service on Sunday [3rd] If I am named by said Brooklyn Base Ball Club for the season of 1886 my salary is to be $2700.00 & not to be reduced in any succeeding year.
