NBC microphone

DescriptionSuspended carbon radio microphone with metal base and neck with a circular metal top. Inside of this circular top piece is another metal disc suspended in place with eight springs. On the very top is a slightly curved black painted sign with "NBC" in white lettering with white edging. This is on both sides of the microphone. There are several electrical cords extending from the base and neck of the microphone.
Bio/Historical NoteNBC suspended carbon radio microphone, similar to the type of microphone which would have been used by Graham McNamee, the popular radio broadcaster, in the 1920s.
