DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of three All-American Girls Professional Baseball League players dressed in South Bend Blue Sox uniforms. The players are identified on the reverse (not shown) as Annabelle Lee, Pepper Davis, and Alma Ziegler although none of these players ever played for South Bend. The three women are standing shoulder to shoulder, looking towards the camera with smiles on their faces. Davis, in the center, has her arms wrapped around the other two. Both Davis and Ziegler wear baseball gloves on their respective left hands and Lee has a glove on her right. Other players can be seen milling around on the grass behind them. It is unknown the exact date that the photograph was taken but it was probably between 1943 and 1954, the years that this team existed.
