Ossie Vitt Dugout negative
Dateprobably 1940
DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Ossie Vitt captured in the Cleveland Indians dug out. Vitt has his head bowed down and his right hand is resting against his baseball cap. He has a straight face. His feet are resting against the bottom stair that leads into the dugout. Vitt is dressed in the Cleveland Indians home uniform. He was the manager of the Indians from 1938 through 1940. On the left beside the pillar is a Cleveland Indians player who is probably Ken Keltner. Several other unidentified Cleveland Indians players are seated throughout the dugout. The bat box is visible in the dugout. Based on Vitt's uniform and his time with the Indians, this negative was probably taken in 1940.
