A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Word From The Wise West Palm Beach, Fla.: Youngest rookie on the Philadelphia Athletics' roster, Jack Littrell, 22-year-old infielder, gives close attention to advice by Athletics president Connie Mack on the opening day of the team's spring training. The 89-year-old Mack has seen many youngsters come and go during his fabulous career at the helm of his team, and will be on hand to watch the players perform when the season starts in April. 3/3/52." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on March 3, 1952.
