DescriptionCream-colored uniform shirt, size 44, with vertical blue pinstripes and seven clear buttons down the front placket. "NY" is in navy blue appliques on the proper left front chest. Proper left front shirttail has a manufacturer and sizing label with "61 Set 2" embroidered in navy blue below. Interior back of the neck has a rectangular label with "Maris" embroidered in navy blue. Back of the shirt has "9" in navy blue applique. There is a care label on the interior proper left lower hem edge.
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by Roger Maris of the New York Yankees during Game 1, and likely Game 2, of the 1961 World Series. The shirt also appears to have been worn by Maris during the 1961 regular season and also at times during the 1962 season.
